Mixing and Mastering Audio Engineer

After graduating from the UK’s Academy of Contemporary Music with double distinction, Mick Morrison went on to join Island Records as their point of call within the Universal Music Group’s tape library in London. There he worked with artists, managers and engineers from across the industry in organising remastering and restoration projects for artists from the UK’s top major record labels. The opportunity soon arose for Mick to work on the studio side himself and in 2015 he joined the world famous Abbey Road Studios as an engineer.

After completing his training Mick developed a proficiency in both the analogue and digital domains, making daily use of vintage tape machines, outboard gear, digital audio workstations and audio plugins. Over the next seven years he went on to work on projects for hundreds of major label artists spanning all genres of music, some of the most notable including The Rolling Stones, Elton John, David Bowie, The Who, Black Sabbath, ABBA, Michael Jackson, The Police, Amy Winehouse, Florence + The Machine and Mumford & Sons.

After leaving London and the United Kingdom to relocate to Australia’s Gold Coast Mick is now working with the next generation of artists as a freelance mixing and mastering engineer. Mick’s goal is to bring the best out of your music and to create a mix and master that is the realisation of your artistic vision.
